Teaches about social situations, including peer pressure and bullying
Have completed episode one about six or seven times, and so far so good. There is definitely a general thread that youre funnelled into, but making different choices allows the player to experiment with different approaches to some interesting social situations, like passive-aggressive bullying, dealing with friends who arent on good terms with each other, pressure to conform to gender stereotypes, being a witness to bullying, and so on. Although I intended it for my fairly mature 11 year old, my 7 year old really likes the game as well, and so far it seems very suitable for both age groups. There is a modest amount of reading on each screen, but little typing -- just highlight the dialogue you want to use.
Gender roles and diversity is one theme in this game, but so far not the primary one. I think thats quite important in making the game interesting. Cant wait to see how further episodes are. Absolutely recommend it.
